Anne Douglas

From Yorkshire originally, I trained and worked as a librarian in various parts of the country, before marrying into army life, bringing up two children and spending an interesting life on the move. With family connections to Scotland, we eventually settled in Edinburgh, where I began to make writing my career, publishing ghost stories and two novels set in Ireland, before turning to Scottish family sagas, a genre I realised was ‘for me’.

Since then I have published twelve sagas, most concerning women with a struggle to face, either to be accepted in a man’s world, or against poverty, and like to think my readers enjoy the way my characters eventually overcome adversity.
