Author A to Z

Elaine lives in North West Kent with her husband and Polish Lowland Sheepdog, Henry. She is a full time author, journalist and qualified creative writing tutor.

Elaine’s life revolves around dogs having exhibited, bred, judged and sat on committees since the early seventies. Her knowledge of the canine world meant that she specialized in the subject for her journalism work but will also write about other subjects. Her work has been read in The Guardian, The Daily Mail and The Daily Express along with many weekly and monthly publications. She was commissioned to write three non-fiction books for dog owners, which are still in print. She is often invited to contribute to radio prgrammes.

Elaine has sold over sixty short stories to magazines worldwide and has been placed in many competitions. A qualified creative writing tutor she has many successful students who are now members of the RNA.

A proud graduate of the RNA’s New Writers’ Scheme  Elaine is represented by Caroline Sheldon of the Caroline Sheldon Literary Agency and is contracted to write sagas for Pan Macmillan.

Elaine serves on the committee of the RNA where she oversees the association’s social media and organises industry one-to-ones for the annual conference.
