Kaela Ward is the pen name of Michaela Weaver, who grew up in West Wales. After some twenty years away studying at university and developing her career, she moved back to the Vale of Glamorgan. She writes contemporary women’s fiction.

Michaela first joined the RNA on the New Writers Scheme with her novel Manic Mondays, which has since been published. She joined the RNA as a full member in 2015, and now runs the South and West Wales Chapter. Michaela is also a reader for NWS and runs novel writing courses both on and off line.

In her professional life she has worked in engineering, marketing, consultancy, beauty, coaching and training. She studied Creative Writing at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

When she’s not writing or working you’ll find her planting vegetables, playing guitar, climbing a distant mountain or painting her nails!

It's a fact

The RNA's first president Denise Robins wrote more than 180 books. The second, Mary Burchell wrote 110. Our third President, Diane Pearson has six so far. Current president Katie Fforde has 19 and she's still writing.
