Author A to Z

Lucy Beresford loved writing and reading so much as a child that – not surprisingly - the ‘Readers’ and ‘Writers’ badges were her first ones she won at Brownies and Guides.

In her work as a writer, broadcaster and psychotherapist, she is passionate about helping people tell their stories, with love being a central theme. Her debut novel Something I’m Not features misplaced love in many forms, and her second novel Invisible Threads explores forbidden love in India, and was shortlisted for the Rubery International Prize. Her third novel Hungry for Love tantalises the taste buds by exploring food and multiple heroes.

Lucy is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and as well her novels she is the author of the International best-seller self-help book Happy Relationships: at home, work and play.

It's a fact

The first romantic novel with a happy ending was 'Pamela, or Virtue Rewarded', by Samuel Richardson, published in 1740. She marries the boss – eventually!
