Author A to Z

I wrote my first book when I was ten. It was the story of what happened to each of the green bottles after they fell off the wall. There were ten chapters, and each chapter saw the bottle happily restored to the wall again. When I finished, I was bereft and decided to have them all fall off again. I had not realised it was my first saga.

I trained as a nurse when I left school and loved my nursing career. I ended up as a chemotherapy nurse which was a huge privilege. Along the way, I kept dipping back to my love of literature. I completed an OU degree in Humanities and while my children were young, I qualified as a library assistant in order to work term-time only. More recently, I have qualified as an adult literacy support volunteer.

My favourite period is the Enlightenment and my love of sailing round Cornwall led me, finally, to write the books I had always wanted to write. I am still pinching myself that Teresa Chris swooped up my manuscript and Sara at Atlantic Books has given me such an opportunity.
