Jenny Harper

Jenny recently returned to writing contemporary fiction after many years of
trying to inject creativity into the corporate world.

In 1983 she was placed second in the BBC Woman’s Hour/Woman’s Weekly
Romantic Writer of the Year Award. Her children’s novel, The Sleeping Train, was
published by Hamish Hamilton and the romance Only Your Warm Heart, written
under the pen name Vel Paget, was published by Messenger Books. She has also
written three books on Scotland, and co-written books on Scottish Traditional
Crafts, Scottish Food and Scottish Drink. Her history of childbirth, With Child, Birth through the Ages, was lauded by Sheila Kitzinger as ‘more exciting than any detective story’.

Jenny joined the RNA in 2004 and won the Elizabeth Goudge Award the
following year. She designs Romance Matters magazine and recently redesigned
the RNA’s website.
