Meetings
A packed audience for an Association meeting
The RNA holds its regular meetings at the New Cavendish Club in London three times a year. There is no need to book for these occasions—simply turn up and pay on the door. Meetings generally consist of a talk by a speaker from the publishing world - author, editor, publisher, agent, reviewer etc - or a Question and Answer session with an expert panel (for example an author, an editor and an agent). The business of the meeting usually lasts for an hour or so. It is followed by refreshments and a lot of catching-up chat! Big name speakers in the past have included Joanna Trollope, Clare Rayner, Gyles Brandreth and Charlotte Lamb. The Annual General Meeting of the Association is held in May on the same day and at the same venue as the Summer Party. All are welcome to attend and speak from the floor, but only full members may vote.
